The Troma ringleader tells The Fold why he’s baffled by the recent “torture porn” trend in contemporary horror movies in the fourth installment of our interview with King Kaufman.
Troma legend Lloyd Kaufman talks to The Fold about working with the Andy Warhol crowd in the wild early years of independent cinema, and the influence that it’s had on his own work.
In our second installment of The Fold’s interview with the man behind Troma, Lloyd Kaufman talks with Fold star Jake Thomas about the trials and tears of interbreeding cinema’s two most unjustly maligned genres and why James Gunn shouldn’t have cut his lines in Slither.
The Fold recently had the pleasure of chatting with Troma legend and indie-film pioneer Lloyd Kaufman on the past, present and future of cult cinema as well as about the important issue of Net Neutrality and why that affects all independent filmmakers on the internet.
This week, we’ll be posting a clip a day from the interview, beginning with this segment on why Lloyd Kaufman hates the term “exploitation film.” Enjoy, and make sure to check back every day this week for more Lloyd Kaufman!
Two of THE FOLD’s writers, Polly Frost and Ray Sawhill, have just released an audio entertainment, SEX SCENES.
It’s a raunchy comic epic that revolves around a young female filmmaker, Kati Paxton, who sets out to make the hottest movie in Hollywood history and how that affects not only her own sex life — but the sex lives of everyone around her. With 33 sizzling actors performing more than 50 roles, 17 hilarious episodes and more positions than the Kama Sutra, all we can say is: you do the math. And you can list to the promo below:
Frost and Sawhill hope to bring outrageous listening fun to commuters everywhere with Sex Scenes, which is on sale at http://sexscenes.info.
I finally caught up with the amazing webseries, Italian Spiderman. Holy mackeral. One of the most truly wonderful original creations out there. You deserve this.
(Thanks, Victor @ popten)
I simply had to share this amazing trailer with everyone, for Borowczyk’s 1975 masterpiece, “La Bete.” It must have taken the guy who’s job it was to put in all the little black censor boxes in this trailer ages, just ages.

Recently released documents from the London defense ministry provide a glimpse into a close encounter which occurred at the height of cold war tensions, and which contains pretty much all the elements of my favorite kind of sci-fiish news stories: aircraft-carrier-sized flying object traveling at 7600mph speeds - check. US pilot ordered to shoot to kill, then told never to breathe a word to anyone by a shadowy gov’t figure - check. Debriefings by unnamed men who “look like well-dressed IBM salesmen” - awesome, check.
The Fold is waiting, indeed.
We recently had the honor of interviewing film legend Lloyd Kaufman about the future of independent entertainment. We’ll be posting highlights from the interview here at thefold.tv very soon, but in the meantime here’s some flattering words from one of THE FOLD’s most venerable fans.
Be sure to watch Poultrygeist which you can buy in an amazing 3-disc set by visiting Troma. com where you can also buy lots of other Troma for the perfect Halloween!
And be sure to watch Lloyd’s important message about net neutrality, which is below in this blog. We love Troma!
